Alumni Game

So for the 4th year in a row the PSU mens alumni team came out with another win at the annual alumni game. It was a good match but with the alumni still playing rugby even after college and having the experience it was tough to keep them out of the try zone. The final score was 30-17, PSU mens rugby showed some promising play against the alumni but with the lack of experience thats where the weakness showed. Overall it was a great game, good to see some old friends, and just a good day to play rugby!

PSU Mens Rugby has a home game! Well Kinda.....

The Plymouth State mens rugby team will be having a home rugby game on May 4th at 5:00pm. They will playing the good ol' PSU Men's alumni team. It will be the 3rd annual game being played agains the alumni and should be a good game as well. For the past 3 years the alumni have won all 3 games but this year PSU's team has a promising line up. With our performance at the Philadelphia Collegiate cup last week we have a lot of confidence going into this game. We still plan on having a fine time at the game but hope this year we can come away with a W! The game will be held behind the PE center on the lacrosse practice fields, hope to see you there!

Results from Philly!

So this weekend PSU mens rugby team went down to Philadelphia to play in the Philadelphia Collegiate Cup. IN the first two games they went 2-0 defeating Pittsburgh and Uconn. They were awarded a 2nd seed bid going into the elimination round as was assigned to play Grove City University(Penn.). PSU ended up winning the match 24-0 and was scheduled to play in the Championship match against York University(Penn.). The match went back and forth the first half but in the second half it was proved that York was the better team than Plymouth. York won 24-3 and Plymouth received 2nd place out of 8 teams. Although we didn't end up winning the tournament, we had a good time playing down in Philly where the weather was beautiful.

PSU does Philly!

This weekend PSU's mens rugby team will be competing in the Philadelphia Collegiate Cup on April 14th. The Norsemen will be playing in 2 matches on Saturday in Pennypack Park and will hope to make it to the next round of the tournament. PSU will be playing Pittsburgh in their first match and Uconn in their second. Next week I will post an update of how the tournament went! Wish us luck!

We plan on eating a few cheese steaks too!

Dartmouth Rugby Tournament

This is a picture of me and two of my teammates that play here at PSU, it was taken at a rugby tournament at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. We played in 4 games and went 3-1, it was a really fun tournament to play in and from the picture you can tell how nice of a day it was. With the spring weather starting to come into affect I will post more pictures of me and my teammates playing some rugby.

Every year there is an annual rugby tournament that is called the Six Nations Championship. The teams that consist of this tournament are England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales. It only consists of European countries. Each team will play each team once and will gain 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. The tournament has already started and after 3 weeks of play and each team having at least 2 matches here is are the results.

1. Wales (3-0) 6pts
2. France (2-0) 4pts
3. England (2-1) 4pts
4. Ireland (1-1) 2pts
5. Scotland (0-3) 0pts
6. Italy (0-3) 0pts
